Time passes, people move…. Like a river’s flow, it never ends… A childish mind will turn to noble ambition… Young love will become deep affection… The clear water’s surface reflects growth… – Sheik, ‘Ocarina of Time’
I remember when we were still young. Time was young, like a new adventure waiting to be explored. What would the future hold? What would we become? Those are questions that young hearts are too enamored in the wonder of the moment to ask.
Yet still, things grow. The innocence of youth provides a pure medium upon which beautiful things can blossom. I remember your smiles, your laughter. I remember how you would giggle when I would tease you and tell you stupid jokes. I remember how you would talk to me about the things you love and the things you wanted to become.
Being an adult seems to ruin everything. Smiles give way to shyness. Giggles are crushed by apprehension. Conversation is replaced by overthinking, and second guessing becomes the new rule.
How I miss those younger days when things were simple.
